I'll be 44 this year and one thing I don't worry about is what these young'uns think about the classic old skool b-boy original hip hop gear. Everything comes full circle. I can't get with all these colorful high-top doofy looking sneakers and the pistol leg jeans hangin' off the ass. I've always loved old skool gear and gonna stick with it. I have mad cats asking me where'd I get the British Walkers and the Playboys and when I rock the Cazal 616 joints it look sometimes that cats in the know would wanna snatch'em from me. I'm in a comfort zone with old skool gear but as I'm getting older I'm also wanting to change up the gear style a bit and start rockin' more put-together outfits kinda on the DL Hughley tip - that brotha dresses sharp. Now that I've seen a pic of the Cazal 623's on Pook's blog that's gotta be my next objcet of desire. Peace to all the BWB's!

Just saw some of the clip with Biz and Bobbito - Biz don't get rid of any of his kicks I see. Dayum he even had the high top Gucci sneakers, which I never did like. I remember at first there were Gucci boat shoes closely resembled the sneakers, then there were the Gucci sneakers, but Biz got the price wrong. The Gucci leather / canvas lowtop sneakers were $115; the all-leather lowtops were $155; and the hightops were $195. Back in 1986 I got my first pair of Bally's was back in 1986 - I bought the olive green suede/leather joints for $135 and showed them to my steppops and he thought it was a lot of money but he said they were fly. When I showed him the Gucci sneaks and told him I paid $155 he almost had a heart attack - thought I was crazy for spending that much dough on some sneakers, but it was my money so he couldn't do anything about it.

Those brown wingtips are hot. BWB's I got a question for y'all .... I'm attending a summer yacht party and the theme is all white. I just copped the all white ankle-high White Wallabees (they are so frikkin beautiful and yet remind me of nurse shoes LOL) and I'm needing suggestions as to what type of white outfit to wear. Should I go with white silk; linen/silk blend; or all cotton? Short sleeve button-down or pullover shirt? Collar or collarless? Pleated pants or some bermuda-type shorts (i.e. gauchos)? I know it sounds a bit anal but I gotta make sure that I'm as sharp as can be. It's not until July so I got time to get the outfit.

Double P, if you are gonna rock da wallys, I would wear linen, silk is cool but it's gonna be hot which means it's gonna stick to you, but if you're on a boat and there's a breeze then silk will work. pleated pants, short sleeve button down wit da collar. If you gonna rock low casual shoes or sandal type shoes then I would rock da bermuda shorts, wit a short sleeve pullover or collarless shirt cotton of course ta keep you cool...but again if you are on a boat and everyone is gonna be up top it could be windy, but if you're down below da shorts ensemble will be bangin. Peace my BWB's. Sorry I had to take some down time. I am trying to get my place rented out and had to get some maintenance done to prepare for some tenants. But ALLNAT, the Linen defin. w/the white Wally's. Linen is cool and moves with you and will give off a good presentation. If i was going to Yacht it, i would bust it like this. White Wally's w/ White Linen drawstrings, I would do a colored polo style shirt and prep it with a light white sweater (cashmere/Wool blend) tied around the collars. Definitely thrown on a Kangol Cap and some tight sunshades, I got a hot pair of Fubu transitionals that works very well. This will complete the look. You have to represent the BWB's all the way. Do this and I guarantee you will rock it. Whatever you do, take some pics and get them posted.. We need to do that my brothers, take some pics and post them on the forum somewhere so we can see each other in the gear. How can we get that done. My cousin from Jamaica put me down on Reval Knox & Ideals on Jamaica Ave. The original Ideals mens store was on the corner of 165th & Jamaica Ave. First hit D street in 68. My man put me down on Leighton's, 47th & Bway & what I feel was the flyest store NY ever had, Phil Kronfeld & 49th & Bway. Howards had all the sude front wool Italian knits.. I still got a gry & burgundy suede & wool joint. Blye's were the nicest knit shirts ever made. They were very expensive. I loved me some Damon's too. I got some Playboys from Mcreedy & Schreiber in the late '70's. Davanzanti playboys from Below The Belt downtown Brooklyn before they closed. But they still got Original Playboys overseas.
