Yo Ice, send a pic of that mock Big J posted to ya man at Koman's and see if they can duplicate it. They already said they make mocks, maybe they already got these joints. We slowly gettin' things poppin' so we can't let up. Those of you with connections to industry ni66a's ,stay on top of them cats that can possibly open some doors for us. Summer is almost here so let's keep it poppin'.

That's a crazy mock neck there! Vertical ribbed lines and all. One of my favorite ones was a dark green short sleeve joint I used to rock with green suede Puma's back in the day. I've been trying to find a pic of some AJ Lester's online but have had no luck so far. Had the lovely light blue overlap joints with the dark blue stripe goind down the leg. Don't remember if they were teardrops or not, and if memory serves me correctly, the inside material of the pockets of the two-tone joints was the same color as the stripe going down the leg. I could just picture it now - a pair of dark blue leather/suede lace-up British Walkers, some light blue AJ Lester's with the dark blue overlap, a light blue mock neck, a spitfire light blue Kangol (or even a big apple hat), and a dark blue suede front jacket. Dayum, the last front jacket I had was a white leather front jacket that I used to rock back in '85-'86. Now I'm fiendin' for some vintage gear!

YOooo Double P, I was telling Mook about da tear drop joints about 2-3 weeks ago, but he said he couldn't remeber them. I had some gray ones. You remeber some knits we used to call "Ice cubes" because they had the square cubes all through them, the cube outline looked shiny and they had the zip pocket down the bottom that was on a slant. I had a pair of light blue. What about the Devil jeans remember them. Swedish knits was da shiznit wit da british or 69er's. I had a white leather front around '84 too, I was down in atlanta living wit my pops. It had the diamond cut outs on the front and the collar was trimmed in leather also, zip up of course. Man...them was the days. I used to rock them wit some white shellies and some lee twills.

Yo what da deal is? Did anybody do anything to their joints yet? I still cant get in touch wiht my brother to get the paint anybody who did holla back at the site with some results. Dee

Bully B.. Peace and blessings to all my BWB's. That V Neck sweater was a Robert Klein. I have looked all over for it, but no more. I use to rock a Beige and Chocolate w/white sweater, with a chocolate or beige mock neck under it w/lee Jeans, BW's or Wallies with the Spitfire Kangol.. Of course i had the Name Plate on in those days.. LOL..Wow.. so long ago.. sweet memories..We are trying to find someone to reproduce the mock necks, maybe we could also draw up a replica of the Robert Klein once we lock something in and get them to produce it as well. we will keep you posted.

Yo anybody thinkin about painting your joints be aware you must first rub the leather down with acetone to strip the gloss from the leather. It wont take and the paint will crack my brother told me and Nat yesterday, far as the stripe or the suede he told me he uses paint markers sometimes but if you got somebody who's nice wit it then stick wit him but if you just feel like dabbling do your thing. I think Imma make my stripe leather on my crowns cuz I like the way that burgundy suede slip-on look. Mike said he got very few period! Small sizes are leaving the store pretty quick he told me "people are goin crazy over this shoe Mookey cuz of the web site" his store sounded like a bar when I talked to him Saturday even the RJ Colt BWs are outta here. Imma cop the Britisher Playboys they only $50 plus yo the Britishers are made from the finest leather & suede including the inside plus the Playboys got organic crepe soles I stay examining them joints and comparing them to the RJs the RJs aint no slouch(member that one)but they aint made like the BWs. Mook, Good wisdom on the BW's. I got the Britisher playboys and they are the Bomb. got them when i went to NYC Mikes. I just ordered the OSTRICH RJ Colt playboys, havent got them n the mail yet, but will let you know. I think I am going to paint up my brown and beige to Burgandy and Grey, will hit the site that was posted to purchase the paint. Will keep you posted.. IS anyone able to get me some Mock Necks with the piping around the collar??

YOOOooooo Bully, DAMN SON! You remeber the Comprehensive Employment & Training Act summer jobs? Dat's Ol' skool for real! I remember my first summer job they was only paying 52.00 dollars a week, I think that was '78-'79. We used to work and save all summer and hit delancy street or jamaica ave and get da gear for school. And far as Ashmun street...Yo, my grand mother used to live in dem joints on da top floor and my uncle on da first floor. I hated when they tore them down, the only real true Hi-rise joints we had. Da "Q" House used to throw da bomb block parties back in da day too. We used to call them V-neck sweaters 3-D sweaters or alpacas. I had a white with da burgundy and beige and da black with gray and white. OCIENJC I bought two pair of playboys the brown ostrich and the burgundy lizard joints from likeshoes.com is that where you got yours they was only 41.00. Yo took my Navy joints to the dude today to get em dyed. Yo the dude told me the dye is goin to run so it will be hard to dye the leather only plus he told me once the dye hits the suede you cant be sure what color is goin to come out. I took all my koints to son and asked yo what about these? Aight what about these,he told me the sole is gonna be navy too I said f*** it I like that better than brown & blue. He tried to talk me outta dying my joints he said look the suede is gonna be hard now the shoe is gonna be different stay with the color you got. I asked him (naturally) about the acrylic paint he said "paint is for walls" he's wunna dem old school cats acrylic paint and air brushing and all this "new fangled" stuff aint for the older Gs. He said it aint the best but Imma go ahead and get some acrylic and play with my stripe one some and my leather on others it seems this way is better cuz it wont run like the dye so when I get em back Imma pass some flicks around and let yall decide what its gonna be. Me Im dabbling wit the acrylic Imma make my stripe darker or another color on my crowns so yo thats da deal a-body keep each other posted yo I think dudes is gonna make some dope sh** word up. Yo Mook please be careful with that acrylic man I don't know about the suede but the leather will start to crack when you bend your foot from walking. try a few shoe spot and see if you can find a good leather dye I use to get some from Woolworth but they don't exist any more. Good luck!

Yeah J my brother told me to wipe the leather down with acetone that takes the gloss off which is what makes it crack. The dude told me dye will run alway to the sole but Im goin at the stripe with the paint. Ice says he's goin to get his airbrushed like the Nike Airs I think thats a good idea.

definitely do a tester I am still waiting for my suede paint will keep posted.

I wanna try a permanent marker on mine. Watcha' think fellas's, think that will work. I'm kinda leery because they are Ice tie-ups and unfortunately I only copped two pair from mikes when I shoulda copped 4 or 5 since I had da dough. So if I mess them up I'm only gonna have 1 pair. But they only shoes so I ain't gonna trip. I'm about 90% there on doing them. I did an inconspicuos spot on the tongue and it took but I think I'm gonna need some sort of sealant to lock the color in in case it rains, some kind of protectant. gimme some feedback.

Nat hit me and we'll call my brother and ask him what will lock the color in. The other day he said he uses paint markers all-a dat so when you call me we'll find out. Plus we used to mark our joints back in the day but now they have paint markers so do you yo. Dee

Peace to my BWB's. I have been laying low for a while. Checking the site daily but keeping it moving. I think we are in the season that Ideas are stewing and we just thinking it all out. I commend you the attempt Mook on the BW's. But that's how entreprenuers hit it big, they dont mind being the trendsetter and ice breaker. I use to be nice with Dyes but havent got the skills on in a minute so dont want to jump it off until i get a few more pair. I think the key to the dye is to try to get it to a base color, then dye it down from there. The only problem is that you cannot dye from dark to light, you can only dye down to a deepr or darker color. Do anyone know if Mike's have more BW's 10.5?? I will hit them up in a few to see whats up.. Also.. i will cop a few more pair. I also Copped the RJ Colts ostrich browns.. (Believe it or not. the Joints are HOTTT) Everyone's complimenting.. definately not the comfort of the Britishers or Wally's but they look good.. Well i will get some pics soon of the gear as it come together.. Whats going on with the plans ont he remanufacturing of the BW's??

They are burgundy I have never wore the BW Playboys so I can not say. I would put Sanders @ 100% comfortably and the Davanzati @ 85%. they are made handmade in England with the same stick pattern as the Sanders as well as the crape sole they are a bit narrower at the toe they said 12 but I had to remove the in sole I need that MM of space.
