Didn't see the HBO special but everyone knows about the Hunts Point hookers .... dangerous place to be back in the day. Saw the Sonny Carson movie back in the day ... when it was about going to the Earl, the Kent, or the Luxor movie theatres off the Grand Concourse, or the UA Valentine or Loews Paradise or the RKO Fordham. I mentioned some time ago about Martin Bros clothing store on Fordham Road - remember the Lee jeans with the ONYX patch on the back pocket? As for the Black Spades, yeah, them and the Savage Skulls, the Savage Nomads, and the Nine Crew. I remember people used to get hung in Crotona Park back in the day - no one dared go in that park at night. Back in the days of riding a skateboard down 170th Street on the side of Claremont Park. Back in the days of Crotona Pool and being scared to jump in the 16 foot section of the pool, when people used to get their fingers stuck in the grates at the bottom of the pool. Waaaay baaack!

What do you think of the Britishers version of the PBs? I got a pair coming in the mail soon and my understanding is that they have the real crepe soul but they also have that piece (strip) right above the crepe soul that you see on the GBXs.

I did a side-by-side comparison and the only outstanding difference was the stitching and the piping around the sole where the sole meets the suede. I haven't taken too close a look @ the Britishers version, but the advice I got years ago still stands true today: it ain't the clothes that makes the man, it's the man that makes the clothes. As long as you like them, that's what counts. The GBX and the BW versions look as close to the PB's as can be.

I feel the MAD love going on in here amongst my BWB's. Thats whats up. Yo WAGNER- I got the Almond British PB's and those joints are FIYAH.. They have the original Crepe sole's which make the quality. Feel good, look fresh, keep em peeping. You wont be dissapointed. I also got the RJ Colt Brown Ostrich joints and the comfort does not even compare to my British but they look great, keep heads turning.
