Again, I could cut my fking head off for leaving all my Bally shoes when I moved from Ozone Park back in 2001. Word, going by memory, I had a pair of black suede Adens, brown suede Adens, olive green suede Adens (all above the ankle joint laceups with the black sole), two pair of red suede low-top Aden's (with the cream sole), two pair of the tan suede Aden's (old skool and newer version), and some blue suede laceup joints (I forget the name of them). Actually, I'd be happy if one of the BWB's could refresh my memory about the differnece between the Aden and Alex Bally's (the ankle high joints I mention are the same ones that Rob Base, Slick Rick, and Superlovin Cee and Casanova Rud are wearing on their album covers). I know there were the ankle high joints and below the ankle joints, I know there were some that were all suede upper with leather going around the base of the shoe, there were some all-leather joints, there were laceups and slip-ons, and then the newer ones that had the leather stitching around the side and toes of the shoe. I still remember copping my first pair of Bal-dogs back in 1986 - copped the brown suede joints from the Bally store on 5th Avenue. Up to that time I never knew what it was like to be treated properly in a proper shoe store. Paid $135 for them back then too. Makes me wonder why Bally hasn't come back out with them as I'm sure cats everywhere would be ready to cop them .... they'd probably charge $300 or more for them.

I think that was the 84 or 85 sistea, not sure of the spelling.

Everyone: hello. Sorry I haven't posted in a while. The computer is down again. We downloaded a 'free' security service which not only turned out not to be free, but also made the machine go haywire. We will be buying another soon, though. Any advice on what brand to get. The one we have now is a Dell, but I haven't been very happy with it. Thinking about going with IBM. What do you all think? Good Morning BWB's the weeks almost over.

Peace BWB's, I'm in the midst of working on a personal project and I would appreciate input from everyone. Even those that peek and don't post. My first of many to come questions is when was the first time you saw a pair of Britishers, what color and your reaction? Time and place, if you remember. My first memory I recall was '78 in Linden Park on Linden between Central and Wilson. My brother's homie Vincent had on a two-toned pair dark Blue with sky Blue tone. The sky blue was the same color of his moc neck that had dark blue stich around the neck, and I think Vince had on a pair of plaids. Back then the Britishers heel seemed higher. Anyway I hope everyone will add on. Mook I'm getting another cellie, when I do I'll hit you with my math so I can build with you on some Britisher history. I am currently working on an open biography about growing up in a certain time period (mid 70’s – mid 80’s). It was during this time we enjoyed some of the flyest fashions that we had the freedom to personalize. The styles and fashions of today are much like something produced from the Motown assembly lines. Long gone are the days of individuality in fashion. Everyone wants to fit in. It’s kind of funny, when we see the gang / clique movies of today the question is commonly asked, “What set do you claim?” Back in the day we knew the Tomahawks from the Black Spades. Back in the day we knew Brooklyn swagger from Bronx style. Back in the day we were trend setters. Cats today follow trends. There is actually a clothing company called Old Skool that has nothing to do with classic so-called urban style. We are the keepers of the flame. I hope everyone is having a safe weekend. I’ll be getting into my gang related movies, “ The Warriors”, “Education of Sonny Carson”, “Youngblood”, “Together Brothers” and “Cross and the Switchblade.” My question of the week, in what movie has anyone seen Britishers worn? “Easy Money” with Rodney Dangerfield (two toned dark blue and light blue joints) was posted last year on the board. In the movie “Empire” with John Leguizamo his brother had the beige hi-top Britishers (on some monitors they look green) with an Alpaca suede front. I just sent off my latest order to Mike’s, a pair of brown trimmed in beige Britishers. I’m still on the hunt for the moc necks. Too much snow is falling for me to make a trip to New York, unless the new Britishers are released, especially if they have tassels.
